Fall Festival, Friday, October 23rd, 5-7PM

Whittier students and their families are invited for costumes, games, activities, food, and plenty of Wildcat fun! Costumes are encouraged, and we love seeing Wildcat creativity. We’ll be outside on the Blacktop and inside, weather permitting. Evening highlights include:

  • One Wheeled Wonders followed by Costume parade at 5:15
  • Monster Mash dance party in the gym at 5:40
  • Dessert Boo-gie cake walk at 6:15, and a full lineup of booths and games
  • Quiet/sensory area will be near the front office area hallway, noise cancelling headphones, snacks, fidget toys, coloring, and reading activities available. See more here.

Admission and Whittier PTA provided concessions (caramel apples, popcorn, and cotton candy) are free and food trucks (Mr. Gyros and Oskar’s Pizza) will be on site. Sorry, no pups.

We still need helpers to make this happen! Most booth shifts are one hour, so a single hour of your evening keeps a station running and you still have plenty of time to enjoy the event!

Can’t staff a booth? We’re also still looking for 21 more desserts for the Dessert Boo-gie cake walk. Drop yours at the dessert table and note the type and any allergen-free details on the sign-up.

Sign up for a volunteer shift here.

Reflections National Art Contest: 2026 - 2027

Whittier is excited to participate in the National PTA Reflections Art Program this year! Students are invited to create an original work of art inspired by the 2026–27 theme, “What My Culture Means to Me,” for a chance to be recognized at the local, state, and even national level!

Students can submit entries in a variety of categories, including visual arts, photography, literature, music, dance, and film. An Accessible Arts Division is also available.

Submit your entry by November 20! Email your artwork and completed entry form to vp@whittierptaseattle.org, or drop off both at the front office.

Learn more and access the entry form here.

Annual Give Update

Final Update: We raised $67,000 for Whittier! THANK YOU!

Thanks to our generous community, we raised $67,000 (51% of our $130,000 goal) during our Annual Give campaign. If you’d still like to make a donation, it’s not too late. We’ll continue accepting donations (and matches) throughout the year until we reach our goal.

More ways to give are coming up: Whittier PTA’s Helping Hands gift card drive to support Whittier families this November, the Spring Fling Auction Fundraiser on April 3rd, and Move-a-thon on May 14th. For more information on how we fundraise, visit here. Paws up!

What’s happening:

Upcoming Engagement Opportunities

Community Meeting - Wednesday, October 7th

Monthly PTA Meeting - Tuesday, October 13th

We as a PTA invite you to join us at a community budget meeting and CANSSPA information session on Wednesday 10/7 from 7-8:30pm in the Whittier Library.

The first half of the meeting will cover our proposed budget to be voted on at our next PTA meeting on October 13th. We will review all proposals, gather input and answer questions.

Of note, this budget is updated from the budget presented at our meeting on September 15th. This budget does not include any PTA funds being allocated outside of Whittier at this time.

The second half of the meeting will be an information session with representatives from The Central and North Seattle Schools PTA Alliance (CANSSPA). This is an opportunity to learn more about this PTA Equity opportunity, and have your questions answered.

Please join us for this month’s PTA meeting on October 13th from 7-8:30pm in the Whittier Library and over Zoom!

It’s a great way to learn about all the awesome things our PTA does, and connect with our wonderful community.

Highlights include:

  • Teacher’s Panel
  • Update from Principal Watters
  • Snacks and FREE Childcare – sign up here!
  • Voting on our budget and membership in The Central & North Seattle Schools PTA Alliance (CANSSPA).

Make sure to join or renew your PTA membership for this year so you can vote!

Annual Give Extended to 10/9!

We’re still WILD about keeping up Whittier’s culture of giving, so the Annual Give drive has been extended through 10/9!

We’ve raised $54,000 of our $130,000 goal -THANK YOU!

However, without more participation, programs are at risk.

Since we typically raise about $45,000 through employer matching, we’ll end the campaign roughly $31,000 under goal without more participation. Annual Give funds what state and district dollars don’t cover, like our 5-day specialist schedule (Art, Performing Arts, PE), extra nurse time, and reading support, and if giving stays at this level year after year, those programs are at risk. Please donate today and if your employer matches, submit that match as soon as you can.

Fall Festival, Friday, October 23rd, 5-7PM

Save the date for this year’s Fall Festival, hosted by the Whittier PTA! This year’s festival will include a costume parade, games, food trucks, cake walk, monster mash dance party, treats and more! This year’s Whittier PTA provided snacks will be included with admission.

Volunteer to help out! https://forms.gle/aLB1KrxtbitF5cbh6

Please note:

  • For this event, please no dogs (leave your furry friends at home).
  • Caregivers are expected to accompany and supervise their Wildcats during Fall Festival.
