Support the PTA

In Seattle, some community PTAs are asked to play a unique role to fund essential staff and services for their school. The Whittier PTA funds nursing, the arts and a daily Specialist schedule, reading and math intervention and extension, enrichment programs, school supplies, and more.

In 2024-2025, the Whittier PTA’s fundraising need is $236,400 (or about $675 per enrolled student) to responsibly cover $254,400 in planned expenses while maintaining a modest emergency fund. We do this through three primary fundraising opportunities:

  • Annual Give (9/3/24 – 10/25/24): Our direct giving campaign is the largest of the year, aiming to raise $160,000 to cover almost 72% of Whittier PTA’s annual budget. This year’s campaign will encourage participation through student-centered celebrations.
  • Move-a-thon (4/4/25): This student-driven fundraising campaign allows Wildcats to reach out to their community network to support the enrichment programs they love by meeting a $15,000 fundraising goal.
  • Spring Fling (5/31/25): This adults-only block party and auction wraps up the school year and annual fundraising with opportunities to buy class art, tickets to community-hosted parties, and more to raise $40,000.

We know participating in fundraising isn’t available for everyone in our community. If you’d like to sponsor another Whittier family’s annual fundraising or are able to provide a more significant financial contribution this year, please contact fundraising@whittierptaseattle.org.
