Whittier Ultimate Frisbee is recruiting 3rd–5th grade students for the Spring 2026 season!

The “WUF Gang” welcomes active, team-oriented players of all experience levels. Ultimate is a fun, all-gender, non-contact sport that combines running, passing, and catching a frisbee to score in the end zone—similar to soccer or basketball. Guided by the “Spirit of the Game,” players learn teamwork, respect, and fair play in a unique no-referees environment.

Space is limited! We are currently in need of coaches to field at least one gender-balanced team for the younger classes, grades 3 and 4, so please reach out if you are interested.

Practices are held weekly after school at Loyal Heights, starting on February 25.

Learn about the team and contact Coach Darby for more info: darby.mcshain@gmail.com.

Building Leadership Team Needs Two Parent Reps

Whittier’s Building Leadership Team (BLT) is seeking two parent representatives for 2027-2029!

This volunteer position is a two-year commitment. The BLT meets for an hour and a half in the afternoon on the first Monday each month throughout the school year to discuss curriculum, building strategy, budget, and other school wide topics. The BLT is made up of two parent representatives, the principal, an administrative representative, representatives from the different grade level teachers, a representative from the Specialists and a learning interventionist representative.

It’s a great way for parents to understand issues that affect the school and represent parent voices in the process.

Please direct questions and interest to the current parent reps: Kate Lindsay Scher (Scher.kate@gmail.com) and Katie Stiver (katiestiver@hotmail.com).
